Five Hottest Former Child Actresses 0

You might not believe that the actresses we have on this list were once smaller, shorter, and less curvaceous. These women dived in the risky world of entertainment at early age, and, unlike most of their friends, they made it back to the surface. The five starlets had proved that, not only they were already talented since little, they also got what it takes to survive the child actress phase. And to top it off, they also grew up to be an exceptional beauty.

A lot of actors and actresses in Hollywood started off small. By small we mean, they already jumped on the stardom wagon when they were young. Child actors and actresses are not uncommon. Every year, advertising agencies, TV productions, and the movie industry produce a big number of young talents. A lot of actors and actress we know today made their first appearance as a young kid. Some failed to attain their acknowledgment as a successful mature actors and actress. Others, like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jodie Foster, or legendary actress like Elizabeth Taylor, achieved great success.

Five Things have picked five actresses from a long list of former child stars, and put them on this list. They have appeared on TV and theater screen before they were seventeen. They are young. They are still active in the movie business ’till today. And, of course, they are absolutely hot.

These are Five Things’ pick of the five hottest former child actresses:

1. Jessica Alba

Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981 to Mark and Catherine Alba. Her father’s career in the Air Force caused the family to move a lot. Alba attended at least eight different schools, and it contributed to her tough childhood years. Alba said not many people in school knew her long enough to befriend her, because of her illness and frequent hospitalization. Alba wanted to be an actress since the age of five, and through fierce determination, she got what she wanted. In her movies, Alba was frequently spotted playing a role named Sam or Samantha.

Jessica Alba’s film debut was Camp Nowhere in 1994. Originally, she didn’t get the lead role, but the actress who were supposed to play it dropped out from the production. Alba was chosen because her hair color matched the original actress. Six years later Alba landed on her breakout role in James Cameron’s Dark Angel. The TV series ran for two seasons (2000-2002). To play the genetically-altered super-soldier Max Guevarra aka X5-452, Alba trained rigorously for a year. That includes training of martial arts, gymnastics, motorcycle riding and hard cardio and stretching.

Jessica Alba is widely known for her roles in movies like Never Been Kissed (1999), Sin City (2005), Fantastic Four (2005), and Good Luck Chuck (2007). Her recent projects are Machete and Little Fockers. Both movies were released in 2010.

2. Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Leslie Panettiere was born on August 21, 1989. Her parents are Alan and Leslie Panettiere. Her surname means “baker”, and she is of Italian descent. Panetierre started modeling when she was very small, and she starred in her first commercial when she was just 11 months. Her first major role was in a soap opera, One Life to Live (1994-1997). During the making of Racing Stripes, Panettiere had to move to South Africa. She spent five months filming, and later, continue her schooling there for the entire year.

Hayden Panettiere was famous for her roles in TV series like Heroes (2006-2010), Malcolm in the Middle (2003-2005), and Ally McBeal (2001-2002). Her famous movies includes A Bug’s Life (1998), Remember the Titans (2000), and Raising Helen (2004).  Her latest project is Wes Craven’s Scream 4, as Kirby Reed. The movie is scheduled for release next year.

3. Jessica Biel

Jessica Claire Biel was born in Colorado on March 3, 1982 to Jonathan and Kimberly Biel. She starred in some theatre productions and commercials, before finally landing on a role in a TV series. She played the role of Mary Camden in 7th Heaven, at the age of fourteen. Although the series was very successful, Biel was trying to get out of her strong image in the Christian-themed show. On 2000, Biel appeared on Gear, a men magazine, posing topless. It was a controversial move she later regretted, but it didn’t make Aaron Spelling cut her contract. After leaving 7th Heaven during its sixth season, Biel already starred in movies like Ulee’s Gold (1997), I’ll Be Home for Christmas (1998), Summer Catch (2001), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), and Blade: Trinity (2004).

On 2007, Jessica Biel co-founded Make the Difference Network (MTDN). It is a National Wish List website where people can search, find, and fund wishes and needs posted by non-profits organizations. Its mission is to democratize giving by increasing the visibility of thousands of non-profit organizations and empowering potential donors to search, select, and fund these organizations’ specific “wishes” and then to see the results of their giving. Jessica Biel is also notable for her roles in Stealth (2005), The Illusionist (2006), I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007), and The A-Team (2010).

4. Megan Fox

Megan Denise Fox was born on May 16, 1986 to Franklin and Darlene Fox. Her parents divorced when she was little, and she was taken into the care of her mother and stepfather, Tony Tonachio. Although she didn’t start acting as early as the other actresses on the list, Fox starred in Holiday in the Sun in 2001, when she was sixteen. When she was in school, Fox was famous among the boys, and it gave her a hard time with the other girls. “When guys want to hang out with you because your personality is badass, women immediately hate you,” she said.

Megan Fox’s big screen debut was Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004) alongside Lindsay Lohan. The two didn’t get along pretty well, and Fox said she had never seen her again after wrapping up the movie. Fox’s big break came in 2007 when she got the lead role in Transformers, as Mikaela Banes. She rose to fame and became known as a sex symbol for her performance in the movie. She repeated her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009. In the same year, she also played the demonically-possessed teenage serial killer in Jennifer’s Body.

5. Scarlett Johansson

Ever since she was a child, Scarlett had been fascinated by cinema, and realized that acting could became a real profession. Realizing her daughter’s passion and potential, Ejner Johansson started taking her to movie auditions. Before appearing in movies, she already acted on stage. On the production of Sophistry, Johansson played opposite Ethan Hawke at age eight. A year later, she made her film debut, starring in the movie North (1994).

The audience can practically watch Johansson grew up on-screen. Since 1994 until 2010, Johansson always appeared in a movie every year. The only time she didn’t have a movie released was on 2000. Johansson survived the child actress phase by starring in two critically acclaimed movies, Lost in Translation and The Girl With a Pearl Earring, both released in 2003. Johansson’s blond hair, raspy voice, and voluptuous figure made her considered one of the sexiest actress today. But, it’s not just her beauty that gained her fame and admiration, it is also her acting talent. Johansson’s popular movies includes A Love Song for Bobby Long (2004), Match Point (2005), The Prestige (2006) and Iron Man 2 (2010).
